Australian Exhibitions and Media to launch CreatorCon in Melbourne in 2027
The organiser of the Australian Tattoo Expo and LoveX will open a two-day creator convention in 2027, with exhibitor and sponsor applications open now and tickets to follow.
MELBOURNE, 18 October 2026. Australian Exhibitions and Media confirmed CreatorCon 27 last week, a two-day convention for content creators and the brands that work with them, for Melbourne in 2027. Exact dates and the venue have not been named. The announcement was made last Wednesday, 14 October, by the organiser’s Creative Director, Kevin Mack.
CreatorCon is a new event rather than a return. Mack has spent more than a decade in creative arts, design and cultural events, and has set his sights on a national platform and community for what he calls the creatorpreneur. AEM, which has run more than 50 exhibitions over 12 years including the Australian Tattoo Expo, LoveX, Babylon Live and the Tech and Gadget Expo, describes it as “Australia’s creator convention” and is positioning it as the place where a sponsorship conversation between a creator and a brand starts in person. By the organiser’s count, its previous shows have drawn more than 300,000 visitors and 3,000 exhibitors.
Melbourne has not hosted a creator convention of this kind since VidCon Australia, which ran three editions at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2017 to 2019 and has been on hiatus since the pandemic. The market it left behind has kept growing: Goldman Sachs Research put the global creator economy at about US$250 billion in 2023, with 50 million creators worldwide, and expects it to approach US$480 billion by 2027. CreatorCon enters that gap with a program built around three stages, a Main Stage for headline talks, an Influence Stage for the business side of creating, and a Studio Stage for workshops and small-group sessions, plus a recording studio on the floor and an expo hall of platforms, tools and agencies. No speakers have been announced. According to the organiser, the program and speakers will be released in 2027.
“The creator space will keep growing, because individual creative flair, a real connection with an audience and a unique style of production cannot be replaced,” Mack said in the announcement. “I believe demand for the individual creator will spike through every disruption we see in global commerce.” “I have always held my values in alignment with the events I conceptualise and produce,” Mack said. “Inclusivity and equality are at the forefront whenever I unite communities and build cultural events,” adding that CreatorCon would follow the same pathway as “a safe, inclusive, creative and modern platform for the creative minds of today”.
The commercial side is already open. Stand prices are published on the event’s website, which is unusual for a launch-year show, with a 3 metre by 3 metre space-only stand listed at $2,999. Sponsorship packages are also priced publicly. Tickets are not yet on sale; the organiser is running a waitlist and says 100 free tickets will be drawn from it when sales open. CreatorCon has also entered the show in the Expo Awards, a public-vote awards program for exhibitions.
Details and the waitlist are at creatorcon.com.au. Exhibitor and sponsor information is at creatorcon.com.au/exhibit and creatorcon.com.au/partners.
