GEELONG, Australia, 31 October 2026 - Qantas Group is the official airline partner of the 2027 Avalon Australian International Airshow, which returns to Avalon Airport in Victoria from 23 to 28 February 2027, Defence Connect reported on 2 October. The publication described the agreement as a first-of-its-kind airline partnership for the show.
According to the report, the partnership covers aircraft and flying displays, promotional campaigns and careers engagement for visitors, and travel offers, hosted delegation support and merchandise for delegates.
The show is organised by the AMDA Foundation, an Australian not-for-profit, in collaboration with the Royal Australian Air Force and with the support of the Victorian Government, according to Australian Defence Magazine. The magazine reported on 23 March that the week opens with trade days, followed from Friday 26 February by a public programme that includes the Friday Night Alight twilight aerial show and the airshow on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February. It said tickets were due to go on sale through Ticketek in November 2026.
The Victorian Government's figures for the previous show, held from 25 to 30 March 2025, were reported by Australian Aviation in March. They include more than 900 exhibiting companies, 291 official delegations from 43 countries and crowds of more than 200,000, which the government described as a record. The government estimated that the 2025 show generated $240.9 million for the Victorian economy, including $31.85 million in direct benefits to the Geelong region.
Australian Defence Magazine reported that more than 60,000 industry visitors are expected at the trade and industry exposition, and that more than 7,000 students took part in the careers programme in 2025.
Justin Giddings, chief executive of the AMDA Foundation, was quoted by Defence Connect as saying: “Avalon places Australia on the world stage.” Markus Svensson, Domestic CEO of Qantas, said in the same report: “The Avalon Airshow has become one of the leading aviation events in the world.”
