ADELAIDE, Australia, 27 October 2026 - The Australian Business Events Association (ABEA) will hold its 2026 Conference and Awards at the Adelaide Convention Centre from Monday 30 November to Wednesday 2 December, according to the association's event website. The Australian Business Events Awards will be presented on the evening of 2 December, closing the conference.
The website sets out the three days under the headings Learn, Belong and Lead, with the overall theme Sharing What Works. Monday is given to training, which the association says it has moved to sit alongside the conference. Tuesday lists masterclasses, cohort groups, time set aside for industry groups, a hosted activity in the city and a welcome reception. On Wednesday, delegate-led discussion takes the place of a traditional plenary. Topics listed include using AI in everyday operations and managing a multi-generational workforce.
The 2026 conference has no exhibition floor. According to the website, partners take part through sponsorship built into sessions and networking.
The awards have 24 categories in 2026, covering events, products and initiatives, teams, venues and individuals, Australasian Leisure Management reported in July. A Best Corporate Event category has been added for corporate-led events such as company conferences, product launches, leadership events and awards programs. Entries closed on 20 October.
Announcing the 2026 program, ABEA chief executive Melissa Brown said: “Recognition matters because it shines a light on the work happening behind the scenes.”
The ABEA awards are a separate program from the Australian Event Awards, which were presented in Coffs Harbour on 21 October. Registration and program details are published at conferenceandawards.abea.org.au.
